The Executive in Residence (EIR) program has been in existence at Lubin for more than 20 years and is part of the many unique ways Lubin leverages its New York locations to connect students with businesses and business leaders. This past fall, Richard H. Feldstein, CPA/PFS, partner, Nigro Karlin Segal & Feldstein, LLP, (pictured) was an EIR on the New York City Campus. Feldstein manages the business and financial affairs of high net worth and high net income clients, many of whom are in the entertainment industry, including screenwriters, actors, musicians, composers, publishers, producers, directors, and executives. Madonna, will.i.am, Selena Gomez, Adam Levine, and his own son, actor Jonah Hill, are on his client roster. During his lecture, Feldstein discussed the importance of client relations in any business discipline, his experiences with clients, and the broad opportunities that exist in the accounting profession.

In spring 2013, Mario Mercurio, senior vice president and general manager of the Franchise Business Unit (FBU), Pepsi-Cola North America Beverages, visited the Westchester Campus as an EIR. Mercurio’s presentation, “The Pepsi Cola Story: Performance with Purpose,” showed the timeline and development of the Pepsi brand, as well as the power of connecting the product to its stakeholders. The presentation also featured promotional spots from the Super Bowl and showcased Pepsi’s partnerships with Beyoncé, One Direction, Drew Brees, and more. Mercurio also provided encouraging career advice to students.
